Max: A Maximum Ride Novel by James Patterson
Prologue to chapter 4
(summary) Max and her flock of genetically altered birdkids are in an air show to campaign for the Coalition to Stop the Madness or the CSM (to help combat global warming and the industrial overtake of the world). Down below, a human of superhuman intelligence and a machine gun for a right arm lies in wait for the right moment to strike. Max, his target, has been wanted by people from all over (for various reasons) and after many unsuccessful assassination attempts, they have called on Devin to finish the job. Once he has Max in the viewfinder of his weapon, he takes the shot and misses, as Angel pushed her out of the way. He missed his target but he hit Total’s tail. The flock takes evasive action and attempts to confront their assassin. They burst through the windows of the building he hid in, and just then it exploded.
(response) I was so excited to read this book. Just as anticipated, it did not start slow. The humor and sarcasm begins too, with Total’s mishap with the sniper. He fails to realize that it’s only the tip of his tail, and he is going to be just fine, so he becomes all theatrical on how he still had ambitions and an unfinished life to finish living. Upon introducing Devin, (the sniper) it means that there is someone new who wants Max and her family dead. This makes me feel really sorry for her because she can’t live life without someone ill wishing her.

Max: A Maximum Ride Novel by James Patterson
Chapter 4 to chapter 8
(summary) Chapter four started off with a very comical and sarcastic Max and the rest of the flock in a talent agency office building. Steve Blackman, a Hollywood talent agent was attempting to make them famous. Though quite unsuccessful were those attempts as the meeting with the gang dragged on and ended with a lame goodbye. At their hotel, the younger kids (mainly Nudge and Gazzy) were annoyed with Max for cutting off their Hollywood interview short, and slashing the chance of becoming a model, and an action figure. Fang wanted to quit the CSM’s air shows, but for reasons unknown. (Max thinks he wanted to please Dr. Brigid Dwyer) agreed to one last air show in one of the most polluted cities in the world; Mexico City.
(response) As it turns out, the building Devin was hiding in exploded because he himself committed suicide, though I do believe that there will be way more of him in the future. During chapter six, Max kept describing her thoughts on Fang (she’s crazy about him but she’s too proud to admit it). It somewhat relates to me because I have a friend who’s more than a friend and sometimes he’s all I think about, so I have a feel for what she’s going through on that end. Towards the end of the air show in Mexico City, the flock are in this sports field surrounded by screaming fans about to receive some sort of award. Everything is so loud, the sights and sounds and distractions all set up the perfect ambush on the flock. It’s almost impossible to not think something dangerous is going to happen.

Chapter 8- chapter 12
(summary) Ninja cyborg things attack the flock at the CSM Mexico City air show. This new threat (though taken care of with relative ease) has officially cancelled the air shows and (once again) forced the flock into hiding. While at the new safe house, Jeb proposed a plan to send the flock back to school, and Max of course declines (to put it lightly). She doesn’t care as much for education as she does for her family’s safety and well being, and being at school isn’t the safest place for a bird kid to be. After dinner and everyone has gone to bed, Max snuck out for a midnight soar. At the end of the chapter, she is shot in the wing by a gun and is falling down at a deadly pace.
(response) Yes (and no)! My prediction unfortunately was correct! Some new enemy decided to crash the party and try to kill the flock (once again). I don’t think that Max should still be so mad with Jeb, (I refuse to believe he is still a bad guy) but I do support her in that the back to school idea is dangerous and pointless. As Max was spiraling down in pain with no control in the last paragraph, the she was describing the gaping bloody hole in her wing preventing her from flying away. As I was reading that my heart sank and my literal physical reaction was a horrified “Oh no!”.

Chapter 12- chapter 16
(summary) Having been shot in one wing and needing two wings to fly, Maximum Ride was pummeling down to her death; only to be saved by the very things that shot her. The same ninja things that attacked them in Mexico City (who she has given the name M-Geeks) overpowered her and brought her on a boat to a Mr. Chu. Just like every other bad guy Max has encountered, Mr. Chu is a wealthy and powerful person who offers Max and her flock to join him and his cause, or die. Her sarcastic humor and refusal gets the best of him, and she is knocked out. The M-Geeks then drop her off (literally; from the moving van) somewhere around where they originally kidnapped her from. She finds the safe house and is taken care of, and within a week her wound is mostly healed enough so that she can fly. At the end of chapter 15, Max finds out that while she was inside healing, the flock held a vote to try the Day and Night school Jeb has earlier proposed.
(reaction) My “Oh no!” from the last chapter turned into an “Aw dang!” as Max once again got hauled away to some strange place to bargain for her life. While getting wrestled into the van by the M-Geeks she said “…I couldn’t fly. There were too many of them for me to realistically break free. This is probably how most humans feel all the time. It sucks.” I was thinking how true this was. It could have been interpreted in a lot of different ways- not just literal. When Max found out that the flock had voted for the school without her, I wondered if there was anyone who voted against it. I know that Nudge, and maybe Gazzy and Angel voted for it, but then I’m curious as to what Fang and Iggy voted for.

Chapter 16- chapter 20
(summary) Chapters 16 was inside information on the mystery enemy set out to surveillance Max, and ultimately destroy her and her flock. Chapter 17 was the first day of Day and Night school! Max no doubt isn’t all that happy but everyone else seemed to enjoy it. Chapter 18 was Nudge telling Max that she wanted to stay at the school. Max tried very hard to try to convince her to stay with the flock, but Nudge stood firm. She wanted to be normal, and mentioned how desperate she was to even possible cut her own wings off. Chapter 19 describes the goings on of Max and Fang, a couple hours after the scene in chapter 18. While in the middle of the desert, Fang finally expresses his love for Max. They kiss, they hug, and for a moment Max is genuinely happy. They get around to flying back to find the school completely lit up at 2 AM.
(reaction) The first day of school usually isn’t the best. This applies for bird kids as well (well, one specific bird kid). Max was relatively calm though she didn’t like it, similar to my first days. I just try to make it through the day without getting eaten alive by the newness of everything. In chapter 19, James Patterson almost perfectly captures what it is to be young and in love. The mix of vivid description and brilliant sarcasm in the story was just fantastic (especially in this chapter). Throughout the entire Max Ride series, (because I’m a sucker for love stories) I’ve been hoping for both Fang and Max to come to their senses and realize they’re perfect for each other. I literally giggled out loud when Fang said his line that shook Max’s world “…I choose you.” But of course, this is a Maximum Ride Novel (so the title says) and Max can never have something good happen without something worse happening almost right after. As they come back to find the school all lit up, my brain was already thinking of worst possible scenarios.

Chapter 20-chapter 24
(summary) Max and Fang have just returned from the middle of nowhere to the safe house at the Day and Night school. It turns out, everyone at the school is safe, only Dr. Valencia Martinez (Max’s biological mother) has been kidnapped most likely by Mr. Chu. To make matters worse, their safe house is surrounded by the M-Geeks. Most unusual and disturbing of all, is the leader of the M-Geeks calling her name (and pronouncing it wrong mind you). He bore a chilling resemblance to Ari. The twist is, Ari was Max’s half brother turned Eraser. Max had killed him once (where she found out he was her half brother); the Whitecoats brought him back to life, he turned good, and died fighting to protect the flock right before their eyes.
(response) I got somewhat confused at one point in the chapter where Max was at the safe house, and the M-Geeks were surrounding them. Fang asked Max if it was hard being her. The question I thought was quite random, but her answer I understood. Then she started rambling on about something that really made no sense so I got a bit lost. In the middle of the last page, Max began to describe the M-Geeks leader. By the time she recognized his face and said “But he is dead” I immediately thought of Ari and I needed no other explanation, though I was a bit enraged because I was always sympathetic of him in the previous books.

Chapter 24- Part 2 (chapter27)
(summary) Having the safehouse surrounded by a million and one ninja robot M-Geeks and an imposter Ari didn’t do too well for Max’s mental state. In fact, it was Gazzy who saved the day (night) with his pyromania. He rigged a lightning rod to shoot whatever electricity it got at the intruders (there was an unexplainable thunderstorm in the middle of the desert). They all got fried and the flock laid in wait for the armored car from CSM to pick them up. As they were about to leave, Nudge approached Max asking to stay at the school. After a heartbreaking realization that Nudge just wasn’t cut out for the fugitive life anymore, Max let her stay.
(response) Gazzy can sometimes be my favorite of the flock because he’s just so funny sometimes. He’s a little pyromaniac eight year old bent on taking over the world (not really). There’s a part where he is describing what he did to the M-Geeks “ ‘…Next thing you know, they’re extra crispy! And the best part? They were standing so close together that they helped fry each other!’ He hugged himself jumping up and down. ‘ I’m brilliant! I’m a genius! I can blow up the world!’ I raised my eyebrows. ‘Not that I would want to of course,’ Gazzy said, and he gave a little cough” That’s my favorite part of that chapter. My only worry so far though is Nudge, and I think something might happen to her once she’s alone.

Part 2 (chapter 27)-chapter 31
(summary) The armored car drove the flock minus Nudge to a military base in San Diego. When they got there, they boarded a plane where they met up with a very important commander, some other important people, and Akila the malamute Total had fallen for in the last book. After an adorable reunion between Total and Akila, they were all debriefed with the new information on the possible whereabouts of Dr. Martinez. On the plane, Gazzy, Iggy, even Angel kept saying what they missed about Nudge. Max on her fancy recliner kept thinking about what was happening, and Fang walks over and sits with her, and takes her hand. They talk for a bit, about her worries and how she feels, and towards the end, Max’s Voice randomly popped in. “He’s your soulmate.” In the previous books, Max had a voice in her head that acted like an advanced conscience, giving her warnings and advice, though she hadn’t heard from it in a while until now.
(reaction) The scene when Total met with Akila was very cute and comical because Total is a talking, flying, Broadway-theatrical black Scotty dog and Akila, the love of his life, a quite typical white malamute. For him it was love at first sight (how adorable). I was smiling and giggling that entire chapter just because how cute and funny Total was as he kept trying to prove himself to her with his tiny little wings and his theatrical speech. The Voice is back! I’ve always had a suspicion that somehow the Voice is really Jeb, but I’ve yet to find any real evidence to prove it. Part 2 is titles “We All Live In a Deadly Submarine” (funny title spin off of Yellow Submarine by the Beatles) I think that they’re all going to live in a submarine, and Angel is going to be useful because of her special abilities.

Chapter 31-chapter 35
(summary) Max, Fang, Iggy, Gazzy, Angel, Total, and Akila all arrive at the Pearl Harbor naval base in Hawaii. They were all set to go and save Max’s mom but were rudely informed that they had to complete this BSSTC survival guide thing before they could even step foot in a U.S. Naval submarine to save Dr. Martinez. The completion of the course is normally three weeks, but for lack of time they’ve graciously narrowed it down to one week. Unfortunately, that’s still way too much time to wait to rescue someone. The next chapter then describes the first day of BS training (so called by Max). They got up, ace the personal defense class, and Max already thinks they will be done with the entire course by about 4 pm that same day.
(response) I immediately disliked the lady they met that said they had to pass a test to save Dr. Martinez. It was hilarious when Max described the uniform they were given. How she said that it was just plain odd to see Fang wearing khaki when he normally wears dark clothes, and how Iggy (the blind one that can feel colors) said that he wasn’t the khaki type. I noticed that Max brought up Nudge’s absence quite often, and I feel sorry that her family is not in one piece. I’m also pretty sure that Max was completely right when she said that they would probably finish by 4pm, and I thought it funny because the military people still choose to underestimate them.

Chapter 35- chapter 39
(summary) These chapters all basically describe how Max and the flock kicked butt in the BS training. Chapter 35 describes how easily they passed the first couple parts of the training. In chapter 36, they were set out in a woodsy field, with their goal to sneak past the guards into the safe zone. They all passed in less than four minutes leaving Lieutenant Colonel Palmer stunned and quite grouchy. 37 and 38 were very short chapters, but they were basically showing Lt. Cl. Palmer that the bird kids were more than qualified to enter the submarine, and that they were given clearance to enter the USS Minnesota.
(reaction) It’s always funny when adults act like children when they’re trying to prove someone (especially children) wrong. At one point, when the flock finished the obstacle course and Lt. Palmer is so shocked they all finished, Max explained why they could pass the class so easily. She says “The lieutenant colonel seemed less comforted by my explanation than you might think. Finally, he let his clipboard dangle at his side. ‘Weapons class,’ he said. But you could tell his heart wasn’t really in it anymore.” It was probably one of the funniest things in that chapter.

Chapter 39- chapter 43
(summary) With the BS course completed and all but something to do, the flock went to the beach. Angel, for some reason insisted on Max and Fang to try to breath under water (she somehow can). They obviously declined, but she kept telling them to practice as if it was really important for them to know how. Out of nowhere, some lady on the beach freaks out and starts calling for help as her child got caught in a rip tide. Max and Fang immediately get up and save the kid, and they all head back to the naval base. Because they’ve been spying on the flock (they call it surveillance) Brigid and Lt. Palmer already know about the rescue. After that, Fang and Max went on an official ice cream date in Hawaii. Chapter 42 Switched views from Max, to Angel, Gazzy and Iggy back at the base. They stole (borrowed) some rebreathers so they could go deepsea diving. On their trip, all of a sudden there’s blood in the water and evil-eyed sharks about to attack them.
(response) Max kept zoning out just thinking about all the stuff that has happened while she was on her date with Fang, and I kept going “Aww!!” like a little school girl just because I thought it was so cute. There was a part where Brigid came and congratulated Fang for his ‘daring’ rescue (it was really a cake walk compared to some other rescues they’ve done) when Max had helped too. She invited him (and him only) to eat at the mess hall with the official people. I smirked and grinned when Fang responded “…I’m busy…” And walked over and asked Max on a date. I think that Gazzy has a slight fear of fish because of his reaction when he saw the hammer head sharks and the silverfish while they were diving. At the end, before the water was filled with blood, something grazed his face and it caused him a lot of pain right before the evil sharks came. I think an anemone touched him and that’s what hurt him. I got somewhat confused when I read this because a couple things happened at once that I didn’t get.

Chapters 43 – chapter 47
(summary) Back to Max and Fang, the second they kissed they were ambushed by the killer robot M-Geeks with Uzis (a serious machine gun) grafted onto their arms. The shower of bullets kept coming as Max and Fang maneuvered behind them and threw them off a cliff. As they were escaping to go back to the naval base, (they were on their date) they were being followed by Nudge who came back! As they were getting to the base, they met up with Gazzy, (who had been stung by a Portuguese man-of-war) Iggy and Angel who had escaped from the man-eating sharks underwater. The flock is back together again, and after a scuffle with the doctor treating Gazzy’s injuries, they left for the sub to rescue Max’s mom.
(reaction) My statement stands. Max can never have something good happen without something bad happening after. She got attacked by the M-Geeks right on her date! That would bother me so much. I got so happy that Nudge came back and was really surprised when she showed up because I wasn’t expecting her in the least. I also thought it was funny that as Gazzy was rising out of the water, he crashed into Nudge who was flying with Max and Fang, and they all meet and the dialogue was hilarious where it went “Just then, something huge shot out of the water and slammed into her[Nudge]…Fang and I surged forward, going into battle-mode, and then two more things shot out of the water…Two large, wet, familiar things. ‘Max!’ ‘Angel?!’ ‘Get Gazzy! He’s Hurt! Oh—Nudge?!’ ‘Angel—hi!’” That was the funniest part of that chapter.

Reader Response Journal 13

Chapters 47-chapter 51
(summary) Chapter 47 began with Max hesitating to step into the submarine. All her fears basically eat her alive when she gets on. She’s terribly claustrophobic and she ends up having a panic attack. The scene switches to the Mr. Chu’s submarine. He and his second-in-command, his third-in-command, and his fourth-in-command were discussing the failed attempt on Fang and Max’s life while on their date. It ended in the fourth-in-command getting ejected from the submarine to face a gruesome death. The scene returns to Max, and the Voice told her that she is having a panic attack, and she needs to lie down. At her bunk, Total comes in with issues of his own. He wants to marry Akila, but he doesn’t want to leave the flock behind.
(response) I completely one hundred percent know exactly what Max is feeling because I can get really claustrophobic. It would give me a heart attack to be on a submarine God knows how deep and to know that I can’t escape. I would freak out! When It cuts to the scene about Mr. Chu and how he killed the guy, it describes how his body was ejected and through the porthole you could see his body compress and turn into this unrecognizable blob in a suit. It was creepy and it gave me chills. I absolutely loved when Total came in and poured his heart out to Max. He was just so troubled by it. Akila couldn’t fly, and he didn’t want to leave the flock to stay with her (and they’re dogs mind you) it’s hard not to giggle.

Chapter 51-chapter 55
(summary) There’s a new addition the USS Minnesota, a marine biologist Dr. Akana got picked up so they could study what was happening to the fish. They got the chance to use the baby submarine, the one with the huge dome on it so you can see all around. Angel insisted on going, but it was Dr. Akana, Max, and the crewman who knew how to drive the thing. During the field trip, Angel somehow snuck out of the ship and swam around, terrifying Dr. Akana (who still didn’t know she could breathe under water) and angering Max because she was being unruly.
(response) I thought it was kind of funny how Max was just so amazed by the animals underwater. She reminded me of a little kid at the aquarium going “look at that!” “what is that?!” I thought it was even funnier to watch Dr. Akana freak out when she saw Angel swimming around, and Max just get annoyed at Angel for not following directions. At the end of the chapter, Max holds a flock meeting. She told them that somehow they’ve gotten off track, and that if they don’t make any progress with the navy then they would go off on their own. Right at this part, the submarine jolted, and the power went out. I think that whatever it was that attacked the birds has attacked the sub, and everyone on board is in grave danger.

Reader Response Journal 15

Chapters 55- chapter 59
(summary) The USS Minnesota was under attack! After Max gave orders, she stole the Triton (the baby submarine) to find the M-Geeks who were attacking the sub. At random, Angel comes up again and somehow talks to the M-Geeks and makes them go away. At that same moment, this huge mountain sized thing comes up and basically tips the huge submarine. Max and Gazzy manage to get back inside it with Angel, and they meet up with Fang and the rest of the flock. They have an emergency surfacing and escape the water.
(response) I was terrified for Angel and Fang and the entire crew on the ship because I was afraid that it would split into a million pieces and drown everyone. I thought it was a bit weird that the M-Geeks listened to Angel and went away without so much as a fight. The mountain thing was the strangest of all though. I don’t know if it’s a fish or a robot (even though Angel said it had a mind and it was intelligent and it could think), but seeing as how Max kept reminding us how big it was just baffles me. What could it be?

Reader Response Journal 16

Chapters 59- chapter 63
(summary) Max is finally off the sub and in a Marine Research Center. She took a break and had fun with the flock in the air as Brigid was showing Fang something about the oceanic maps. They all looked to the ocean, and they could see the big mountain thing. Brigid and Fang and Max followed Angel into the water to properly see the sea monster, but they lost track of angel. Meanwhile back in Mr. Chu’s submarine, Dr. Martinez is getting tortured into signing this contract that stops the CSM, but she refuses to sign it.
(response) It’s funny how when you have a good point, you want to repeat it as often as you can. I see Max and she keeps repeating the fact that she hates being in the water because she’s totally unequipped for it. I’m really curious as to what this monster thing is. As far as I’m concerned it’s a big black blob in the ocean that wants to kill things. In the book it’s discussed that the monster is the result of some radiation mutant altered by manmade radiation. At the end Dr. Martinez has been starved and is being tortured because she strongly believes in the CSM and she won’t let it die. I think there is some sort of connection between the CSM’s protesting, and the monster thing in the sea.

Reader Response Journal 17
Max: A Maximum Ride Novel by James Patterson
Chapters 63- chapter 67
(summary) Max had wandered herself away from the group (Fang, John, and Dr. Akana) and found herself stuck in an underwater cave. These are easy to get into, but tricky to get out, and while she was trying to escape an octopus grabs her from behind. She tussles with it and eventually loses her mask, and her rebreather. Unlike Angel, she doesn’t have gills so she is forced to hold her breath and not pass out. Luckily, the group found her. Fang beat up the octopus and Max found out that she too has developed gills. Fang and Max both ditch the air tanks, and on their way to the surface, the group is attacked by some sort of sea creature. They were big and blobby and they were attacking everyone. Thanks to the navy’s torpedo though, they were able to get away relatively unharmed.
(response) I really feel sorry for Max. All the bad things happen to her. She gets lost, she loses her flashlight, she gets attacked by an octopus, but then she gets all the cool stuff too. She can fly, she can now breathe underwater, and did I mention she can fly (Yes because I would absolutely love to be able to fly like her)? I thought it was pretty funny how when Fang came to rescue her and she was still holding her breath, he started smiling (Fangs version of laughing). She said “Smiling? I had, like, five seconds to go before my lungs exploded. Where my last thoughts as a living bird kid going to be, I thought you loved me, Fang, you freaking traitor?!” I think that the blobs that attacked the group are somehow related to the big mountain-sized sea creature, but different kinds. Really creepy though how it was described, and they only had one red eye.

Chapters 67- chapter 71
(summary) Max and the gang are back in a submarine. Not the same one from last time though. This one is smaller and has windows. On their little voyage, they discovered what Mr. Chu had been hiding all this time. His corporation was illegally dumping radioactive waste, causing the mutations in the sea creatures. Because the CSM was bent on showing the truth about the pollution in the oceans, the Chu Corporation would get found out, and put out of business. While still in the water near the tubs of radioactivity, a whole bunch of M-Geeks appear out of nowhere and start trying to break into the sub. Gazzy and Iggy, the pyromaniacs that they are, cleverly figure out a way to fry them without damaging the sub. After the first battle is won, Angel (for some reason cannot stay still these days) escaped from the sub defying all reason by not getting crushed by the pressure underwater.
(response) It really bothers me how someone can commit a crime, and just live happily for the rest of their life. The Chu Corporation may not be real, but the concept holds. They know it’s wrong to dump toxic waste into the environment, they know the consequences, yet they keep doing it out of greed and selfishness. What I love, and hate about this book is that something is always happening! These kids can’t take a break without some robot mutant things trying to kill them! Once again, Gazzy wins the funniest-part-in-the-chapter award. As he explains his theory to blow up the M-Geeks with the demolitions master on the ship, her response was amazing. “You’re a diabolical little pyro, aren’t you?’ She asked Gazzy. He blushed modestly.”

Chapters 71- chapter 75
(summary) As it turns out, the big mutant fish things were really quite intelligent. The only reason they attack the ships is because they are killing their babies and eggs. And Angel wasn’t in any real danger after she had explained herself to the head fish. Gor, of the Krelps (is what they called themselves). They agreed to help Max and the gang rescue her mom. They swam through the water and stumbled across Mr. Chu’s submarine. Max and Angel both got out of the sub, and broke through the strange electric force-field that had surrounded the enemy sub. Gor, the leader of the Krelps and also one of the largest was just about the melt the window leading to Dr. Martinez’s room before Max realized that breaking into the sub like that would kill her.
(reaction) I was worried for Angel, and of course not only did she not get eaten by the mutant fish, she recruits them for her cause. Weird? Yes. Fun to read? Yes. As Max was meeting up with Angel underwater, the Voice came back and uttered a sentence that still makes no sense to me whatsoever. “The birds are working.’ The Voice repeated. ‘They’re working to help us.” I’m still completely baffled by this statement, and honestly have not even the faintest clue of what it could mean.

Chapters 75- Epilogue (2 chapters)
(summary) Dr. Martinez was on the floor of her room unconscious when the water flooded in. Thanks to all the Krelps (mutant fish), who were able to make a giant snot bubble to protect Dr. Martinez from the pressure underwater long enough to get her to the airlock on the Navy sub, Max’s mom is finally rescued! This was followed by happy-sappy greetings and a happy ending for all. But of course, in a Max Ride book, all can’t end well. Chapter 76 leaves off in a cliff hanger, where Brigid secretly meets with a bunch of people in suits, and Mr. Chu himself.
(response) I was no doubt happy that Max had gotten to her mom in time, and was maybe just a bit disgusted when Max described the bubble made from the Krelps’ body goo. Although it may be funny from here, if I was in her shoes I’d be completely wigged out. All is happy when Ella (Max’s half sister and Dr. Martinez’s daughter) and Jeb come to visit her in the hospital. I somewhat smirked to myself when I read the scene with Brigid meeting Mr. Chu. I think that she isn’t a complete traitor, but she’s still up to no good.

Epilogue
(summary) The flock are all happy once again, at the beach playing and flying. Max and Fang are chatting in the air flying close to each other, while Angel and Nudge play with the dolphins, and Iggy and Gazzy somewhere being reckless no doubt. A very peaceful moment rarely seen in any of the Maximum Ride novels.
(response) It’s always sad to turn the last page of a really good book. You want to read more and more but to every great story there is usually a great ending that follows. This ending left me with a happy feeling and a smile, and even more desire to read the last book. Long live Max Ride!
